Bahnhofstrasse

One of the most famous luxury shopping streets in the world, it stretches 1.4 km from the main railway station to the shore of Lake Zurich. It was laid out in the 1860s on the site of the filled-in city moat known as Fröschengraben. Today it is home to luxury department stores and watch boutiques, and at Paradeplatz — the centre of Swiss banking — the headquarters of major banks are located.
