A Gothic baptistery from the 14th century, tucked beneath the cathedral apse and reached by descending steps from the side streets. The centerpiece is a marble baptismal font with bronze reliefs by Jacopo della Quercia, Lorenzo Ghiberti, and Donatello, dating from the 1420s. It is often skipped in a hurry, but it is of equal artistic importance to the cathedral itself.
Included in the OPA SI pass, which covers both the cathedral and the museum. If purchased separately, the ticket costs around 4 EUR. The space is relatively small, so there are fewer crowds than in the cathedral.
