A circular defensive tower built around 1475 as part of a protection system against Ottoman incursions — one of the better-preserved examples of late medieval fortifications in Slovakia. From the walls, there is a view of the hills surrounding the city, and the entire complex can be toured in about twenty minutes.
The Barbican and city walls are free to visit. You can explore them at your own pace throughout the day.
