Barbican and City Walls

A circular defensive tower from the 15th century, built as part of the city's protection system against Ottoman incursions. It is one of the best-preserved remnants of medieval fortifications in Slovakia and an important historical symbol of Banská Bystrica. The surviving sections of the walls offer insight into the city's former defensive system and its rich past.
