Baščaršija

Baščaršija

The historic heart of Sarajevo, established in the 15th century during the Ottoman period. Its narrow cobblestone streets are filled with craft workshops, traditional coffee houses, and souvenir shops. In Kazandžiluk, copper items are still handcrafted to this day, while the Sebilj, a wooden fountain in the center of the square, is one of the most recognizable symbols of the city. According to local legend, anyone who drinks water from the Sebilj will one day return to Sarajevo.
