A Romanesque basilica from the 12th century with a golden mosaic on the facade depicting the Ascension of Christ, one of the most recognizable images in the city. The interior holds a rich collection of chapels with frescoes and sculptures, including part of the mummified remains of St. Zita. The church is an active parish and entrance is free.
Entrance is free. During masses (in the morning and in the afternoon) a tourist visit is not recommended; details at the church entrance.
