Basilica of Saints Philip and James and Bell Tower

Basilica of Saints Philip and James and Bell Tower

The Basilica of Saints Philip and James was built in the second half of the 18th century on the site of two older churches and is the main church of the Ampezzo valley. Next to it stands a 65-metre bell tower topped with green copper, visible from every part of the basin and now a landmark of the town; it still houses the original bells from the mid-19th century. The basilica sits right on Corso Italia, making it easy to combine a visit with a stroll through the town centre.
