Byzantine Museum of Zakynthos

Byzantine Museum of Zakynthos

The museum on Solomos Square houses one of the most important collections of post-Byzantine art in Greece — icons, frescoes, and church furnishings preserved or transferred from churches destroyed in the 1953 earthquake. Particularly notable is the collection of works from the Zakynthian iconographic school of the 17th and 18th centuries.
