A private 16th-century historic palace that is still the residence of the noble de Piro family, open to visitors as a small house-museum. Visitors can see over 50 originally furnished rooms featuring furniture, paintings, porcelain, and personal items that trace the life of Maltese aristocracy through the centuries. Particularly noteworthy is the World War II underground shelter, which the family used during the bombing of Valletta. The owner, Marquis de Piro, often personally welcomes visitors, making this visit unusually intimate compared to standard museums.
