Ćele-kula

Ćele-kula

Ćele-kula is a monument erected after the Battle of Čegar in 1809, when Ottoman authorities embedded the skulls of fallen Serbian rebels into its walls. Today it is protected by a chapel and stands as a testament to the suffering and the uprising period of Serbian history. A smaller museum exhibition is located alongside the tower.
