Col de la Forclaz

Col de la Forclaz is a mountain pass above the eastern shore of Lake Annecy and one of the most famous panoramic viewpoints in the region. From the pass, a view opens up along almost the entire length of the lake, the surrounding mountain ridges, and the villages along the shore. The spot is particularly well known as a launching point for paragliding, and paragliders can often be seen soaring above the lake. The viewpoints and mountain setting make it a worthwhile excursion even without a flight.
