Parish Church of St. Julian

The current parish church in Bale was built in the late 19th century on the site of an early Christian basilica and was completed and consecrated in 1882. The church preserves valuable artistic and liturgical works, including a stone sarcophagus with early medieval ornamentation, a wooden crucifix, and a Renaissance polyptych. A special place in the history of Bale belongs to Blessed Julian, a 14th-century Franciscan and patron of the town, whose mortal remains are connected to this church.
