Church of St. Mary of the Assumption

The Roman Catholic parish church within the old town dates back to the 16th century and was built on the foundations of an earlier Romanesque structure. The Baroque bell tower dominates the silhouette of Buzet, visible from the surrounding vineyard roads, while the interior preserves several votive paintings and carvings characteristic of the Venetian period of rule in Istria. The church remains an active parish to this day.
