A church built in the 12th century on the very edge of the upper town cliff, modeled after the church of the same name in Constantinople, but on a smaller scale. Part of the original frescoes and mosaics have been preserved despite centuries of neglect and Venetian conversion into a mosque. The location on the edge of the cliff, at a height of approximately 200 meters, makes this one of the most dramatic religious sites in Greece.
The church is accessible during the walking ascent to the upper town, with no entrance fee. The condition of the structure requires caution when moving through the ruins.
