Church of the Holy Sepulchre and Altötting Chapel

On the edge of the old town centre stands a small baroque complex from the 17th century, which locals also call 'little Jerusalem'. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was built as a replica of Christ's tomb in Jerusalem, and beside it stands a chapel modelled on the famous Bavarian sanctuary at Altötting. It is rare to find such a complete baroque pilgrimage ensemble in an Alpine town of this size, and a quiet stroll to the site is one of the most memorable moments of any visit to San Candido.
