Dion was the sacred city of the ancient Macedonians, dedicated to Zeus, located at the foot of Mount Olympus, about 20 km from Katerini. The site features visible remains of temples, baths, mosaics, and a street system from the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The associated museum houses exceptional sculptures and artifacts discovered during excavations.
The ticket covers both the archaeological site and the museum. The combined ticket gives access to both locations. A morning visit is recommended for shade and smaller crowds.
