English Garden and Flower Clock

English Garden and Flower Clock

The English Garden is a lakeside park overlooking the harbour and the Jet d'Eau. At its entrance stands the Flower Clock, built in 1955 as a tribute to Geneva's watchmaking tradition; its floral arrangement is changed four times a year. The second hand is 2.5 metres long, and new hands were crafted and donated by the house of Patek Philippe during the 2017 restoration, when more than 12,000 plants were used in the floral design. The park is also home to the National Monument, unveiled in 1869, which commemorates Geneva's entry into the Swiss Confederation.
