Ethnographic Museum (Aslan Pasha Mosque)

Ethnographic Museum (Aslan Pasha Mosque)

The Ethnographic Museum of Ioannina is housed in the Aslan Pasha Mosque, in the northwestern part of Ioannina Castle. The building itself, dating from the 17th century, ranks among the most significant monuments of the Ottoman period in the city. The exhibition presents the everyday life of three communities that lived in Ioannina for centuries — Greek, Turkish, and Jewish — through costumes, jewelry, weapons, household objects, and documents. The museum offers a rare insight into the shared past of the city and its religious and cultural diversity.
