Fogelbergsteig — Trail Above the Danube

A circular trail that leads from the village up through the rocks above the Danube, to the Fogelberg viewpoint and the Starhembergwarte tower, then descends back to Dürnstein. It is approximately 3.8 km long and takes around two and a half hours to walk, with 341 metres of ascent. The final section crosses a rocky ridge secured with cables and chains, so sure-footedness and sturdy footwear are essential. The trail is not passable in snow or ice.
