Fort St. Elmo and National War Museum

The fortress at the entrance to the Grand Harbour was built in 1552 and played an important role during the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. It houses the National War Museum, with exhibits covering the period from the Knights of the Order to World War II, including the Gloster Gladiator aircraft 'Faith'. From the ramparts, there are views over the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett Harbour.
