A star-shaped fortress at the tip of the Valletta peninsula, built in 1552, which played a pivotal role in the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. Within the fortress is the National War Museum, featuring exhibits from World War II, including the famous Gloster Gladiator biplane 'Faith'. The views over both harbours are exceptional.
The ticket includes the National War Museum inside the fortress. Tickets can be purchased on-site or through the Heritage Malta website. On weekends, battle reenactments in military costumes are sometimes organized.
