Franciscan Monastery and Old Pharmacy

The Franciscan Monastery, founded in 1317, houses a pharmacy that has been in continuous operation since 1317 — one of the oldest in the world. The Gothic portal featuring a Pietà by sculptor Leonardo Petrijević, dating from 1498, adorns the main entrance, while the Romanesque cloister from the 14th century contains double columns with 60 differently carved capitals. The museum preserves original recipe books and medicine vessels from the 15th century.
