Our Lady of the Rocks

A small island in front of Perast is one of the most unusual places in the Bay of Kotor. According to legend, it was built over centuries by local sailors who threw stones at the spot where an icon of the Virgin Mary was found. Today the island houses a Baroque church with a collection of votive objects left by seafaring families after safe returns from the sea. The boat ride to the island takes only a few minutes, but offers one of the most beautiful views of Perast from the water.
