City Walls and Towers

The stone walls have protected the historic core of Korčula for centuries, following the coastline along almost the entire perimeter of the old town. Through the Land Gate, above which stands a relief of the Venetian lion of Saint Mark, one enters a network of narrow streets and squares that have shaped the identity of the city. A walk along the walls offers a different perspective on the red rooftops, the harbor, and the Pelješac Channel.
