Medieval defensive walls from the 7th–15th century that stretch above the old town, originally built to protect against Ottoman incursions. Part of the walls is accessible for walking and offers exceptional panoramic views of the city, the sea, and the surrounding hills. One of the best-preserved fortifications on the Slovenian coast.
Tickets are purchased on-site at the entrance to the walls. The walk along the walls takes about 30 minutes and includes several viewing platforms. Shoes with good soles are recommended as the surface is uneven.
