A Baroque palace from 1615, built by Salzburg Archbishop Markus Sittikus as a summer residence. The most famous attraction is the 'Wasserspiele' (water games) — a system of hidden water jets that surprise visitors at the moments they least expect it (benches, statues, pathways). Ingenious 17th-century mechanics that still operate with the original hydraulics today. Particularly popular with families with children — an interactive experience where visitors get playfully 'splashed' by the jets. The palace is surrounded by a large park with fountains, gardens, and woodland. Located 5 km south of the center of Salzburg — bus 25 or a direct cycling path.
The ticket includes a tour of the water games and tricks, as well as a view of the palace and the baroque gardens. Purchasing online in advance is recommended, especially during the summer period when crowds are common.
