Lake Staz

Lake Staz (Lej da Staz) is a small forest lake east of St. Moritz, surrounded by larch and pine trees. A circular trail 7.1 km long leads around it, taking approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes on foot: it departs from St. Moritz railway station, follows the shore of Lake St. Moritz to Meierei, winds through the forest around Lake Staz, and returns via St. Moritz Bad. In winter it is one of the most scenic walks through a snow-covered forest, and crossing the lake on foot is only permitted when the routes across it are officially marked and maintained.
