Lake Thun

An alpine glacial lake 18 km in length, located west of Interlaken, surrounded by mountain peaks, vineyards, and historic castles. It is popular for boat cruises, swimming, and walks along the lakeside promenades. On its shore lies the city of Thun, with an impressive 12th-century castle, one of the most famous medieval monuments in the region.

Ticket for a cruise on BLS boats; the Swiss Travel Pass covers the ride for free. The ride to Thun takes about 1 hour and offers beautiful views of the Alps. A free walk along the shore is always possible.
