A smaller historic complex by the sea, located in a quieter part of the city not far from the Meštrović Gallery. The complex dates from the 16th century, originally used as a summer residence by the noble Capogrosso family. Meštrović purchased it in 1932 and converted it into an exhibition space. The most famous attraction is the chapel with its masterpiece — wooden reliefs titled 'The Life of Christ' on which Meštrović worked for 25 years, depicting 28 scenes from the life of Christ. It is frequently visited by art and history enthusiasts, and is less crowded than the main gallery.
The ticket allows you to visit Meštrović's Kaštelet fortress and the Chapel of the Holy Cross with its renowned wooden reliefs. A combined visit with the Meštrović Gallery using a joint ticket is recommended.
