Castro

Castro

A medieval fortified town perched on a high rock above the eastern coast of Sifnos, built during the period of Venetian rule. Narrow cobblestone streets, Venetian coats of arms embedded in house facades, and the remains of former defensive walls make it one of the best-preserved historical settlements in the Cyclades. From the cliffs, views stretch across the Aegean Sea and the rocky coastline of the island.
