Cathedral of St. Gerlan

The cathedral dedicated to Saint Gerland, the first bishop of Agrigento, dominates the highest point of the historic center. It was built in the 11th century on Norman foundations, and its current appearance is the result of several renovations over the following centuries. Next to the cathedral there is a small museum space with documents and relics related to the history of the bishopric.
