A Baroque cathedral from the 16th century, home to one of Caravaggio's most famous works — 'The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist'. The floor is covered with epitaphs of the Knights of St. John, and the vault is adorned with lavish frescoes. It is considered one of the most beautiful Baroque churches in the world.
Ticket includes audio guide and visit to the oratory with Caravaggio's painting. Arriving in the morning is recommended to avoid groups. Modest dress is required.
