A medieval fortress situated at 360 meters above sea level, on a gorge between Mosor and Kozjak mountains, approximately 12 km north of Split. The fortress played a major role in the history of Dalmatia — it defended the city against Ottoman conquests in the 16th century under Captain Petar Kružić. From its walls, a spectacular panoramic view stretches over Split, the Bay of Solin, and the islands of Brač and Šolta. The fortress is world-famous for the locations used during the filming of Game of Thrones — it served as Meereen in Season 4. An ideal family excursion with both historical and pop-culture layers.
The ticket covers access to the entire fortress with panoramic views of Split and the surrounding area. It is recommended to arrive by bus or car, as the fortress is located away from the center of Split.
