Chain Bridge

Chain Bridge

The first permanent bridge over the Danube and one of the most important symbols of Budapest, opened in 1849 and rebuilt after World War II. Széchenyi Chain Bridge connects Buda and Pest, and in the evening it is particularly impressively lit up, becoming one of the most beautiful sights in the city. It is guarded by recognizable stone lion sculptures at both ends of the bridge.
