Lotrščak Tower

Lotrščak Tower

A fortified tower from the 13th century that once guarded the southern gate of Gradec. Today it is known for the Grič Cannon, which fires a ceremonial shot every day at exactly noon, a tradition that has continued since 1877. From the top of the tower, there is a panoramic view of the Lower Town, Zagreb Cathedral, and the surrounding hills, while at its base stands the Zagreb Funicular, the shortest public funicular in the world that is still in operation.
