Monastery of the Holy Trinity

Monastery of the Holy Trinity

The Monastery of the Holy Trinity (Agia Triada) is the smallest of the six active Meteora monasteries, built in the 15th century on top of one of the characteristic Meteora rocks. Access includes a climb of around 140 steps through a tunnel carved into the rock, making the visit unsuitable for people with reduced mobility. The monastery is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It became known beyond Greece after appearing in the 1981 film 'For Your Eyes Only'. From the monastery, there is a wide view over Kalambaka and the Meteora rocks.
