Moreška

Moreška is a traditional sword dance that has been performed in Korčula for centuries and today represents one of the most striking symbols of the island. The performance depicts a conflict between two kings through choreographed sword-fighting scenes accompanied by music and traditional costumes. During the summer months, Moreška remains one of the rare examples of a living Mediterranean custom that is still performed before an audience.
