Murano

Murano

An island famous for its glass production, which was relocated here in 1291 due to the fire hazard it posed in Venice. Visitors can tour workshops where Murano glass is still produced today, as well as the Glass Museum, which traces the development of this craft through the centuries. The island is reached by vaporetto in about 30 minutes.
