Museum of Ancient Glass

Museum of Ancient Glass

A museum dedicated to ancient glass, housed in the Cosmacendi palace above the port of Zadar. The collection encompasses Roman glass found in Zadar and the wider Dalmatia region — perfume and oil bottles, cups, jugs and vessels from tombs, including finds from the necropolises in Zadar, Nin and Aserija. It is one of the rare museum exhibitions in the world entirely devoted to glass from the ancient period. The museum also houses a glassblowing workshop where glass blowing is demonstrated and replicas of ancient objects are made.
