Museum of Sacred Art

A museum housed in a former bishop's palace that preserves one of the most valuable collections of religious art in Madeira. The collection includes Flemish paintings, sculptures, liturgical objects, and silverware connected to the period when the sugar trade brought great wealth to the island. A visit provides an interesting insight into the religious and cultural history of Madeira from the 15th to the 18th century.
