Museum of the Slovak National Uprising

One of the most significant museums in Slovakia, dedicated to the Slovak National Uprising of 1944 during World War II. The distinctive building from 1969 consists of two concrete wings connected at the center and represents one of the most celebrated works of modern Slovak architecture. The permanent exhibition uses documents, photographs, and artifacts to depict events from the period when Banská Bystrica was the center of the uprising, while an original partisan armored vehicle stands in front of the museum.
