The Byzantine Museum of Ioannina is located within the Its Kale citadel, in the complex of Ioannina Castle. The exhibition traces the Byzantine and post-Byzantine history of Epirus through icons, sculptures, ceramics, manuscripts, coins, and other objects from various periods. The museum is a natural part of a visit to Its Kale, together with the Fethiye Mosque, the remains of the Ali Pasha complex, and the views over Lake Pamvotis.
