National History Museum

National History Museum

The National History Museum is located on the northern side of Skanderbeg Square and is recognizable by the large mosaic 'Albanians' on its facade, depicting figures from various periods of the country's history. The exhibitions trace the development of Albania from the Illyrian and ancient periods, through the Middle Ages and the struggle for independence, to the 20th century and the communist era. Collections of archaeological finds, icons, weapons, and historical artifacts provide a broad overview of Albanian history in one place.
