An attractive old building in the heart of the hotel zone that once served as the seat of the first government of independent Albania. Inside is housed a rich collection of memorabilia from the years leading up to the declaration of independence in 1912 — photographs, documents, personal belongings of Ismail Qemali and other founding fathers of the nation. The place is almost pilgrimage-like for Albanians. Note the unusual opening hours: Mon-Sat 9am-12pm and 5pm-10pm, Sunday 6pm-10pm.
The ticket price is symbolic and paid on-site. The museum showcases the history of the Albanian national revival and independence since 1912.
