A historic cemetery dating from the Austro-Hungarian era, located in Stoja in western Pula — one of the largest and best-preserved naval cemeteries in Europe. It is the resting place of sailors, officers, and residents of the former main war harbor of the Habsburg Monarchy. Walking among the old graves with inscriptions in German, Italian, and Croatian offers a fascinating insight into the naval and military history of Pula. Particularly peaceful and atmospheric — often empty of tourists, a hidden gem for those who love history.
The cemetery is freely accessible for visits during the day. It contains the graves of Austro-Hungarian sailors and soldiers from the 19th and early 20th century.
