A cable car system connecting the center of Innsbruck with the Nordkette mountain range, taking visitors to the Seegrube and Hafelekar viewpoints at over 2,200 meters above sea level. From the summit, a spectacular panoramic view unfolds over the city, the Inn river valley, and the surrounding Alps. The Hungerburg cable car stations were designed by architect Zaha Hadid. During winter the area is a popular ski resort, while in summer it serves as a starting point for hiking and panoramic tours.
The price includes a return ticket to Seegrube; the ride to the top of Hafelekar costs more. Purchasing tickets online is recommended. The Innsbruck Card includes unlimited use of the cable car — a worthwhile option for a multi-day stay.
