Italia Olympic Ski Jump

Italia Olympic Ski Jump

On the hillside near Zuel, a few kilometres from the centre, stands the ski jump that hosted the ski jumping competitions at the 1956 Winter Olympics. No longer in use today, it remains one of the most recognisable testaments to Cortina's Olympic past, and it also appeared in the 1981 James Bond film 'For Your Eyes Only'. The view from the base, looking up at the steep ramp with the mountains rising behind it, gives a vivid sense of just how daring it was to jump here.
