Olympic Ice Stadium

Olympic Ice Stadium

The Ice Stadium is the only venue built specifically for the 1956 Winter Olympic Games. It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as figure skating competitions and some ice hockey matches, and during the 2026 Games it served as the home of curling. The stadium remains part of the city's everyday life to this day, offering ice for skating and hockey, and can be reached from the city centre with a short walk.
