Palazzo Negri

A Baroque palace of the Negri family from the 17th century, in the heart of Labin's old town. The Negri family came to Labin from the area around Bergamo in the early 16th century and over time became a prominent merchant family under Venetian rule. Throughout history the building has served as a hospital, a maternity ward, and a school, and today its stone facade bears witness to the Venetian architectural heritage of Istria. It is located just a few steps from the main square, along the narrow cobblestone streets of old Labin.
