An imposing Gothic fortress-palace built in the 14th century as the seat of the Knights of St. John, today a museum with a rich collection of mosaics, furniture, and ancient exhibits. It dominates the top of the old town and is one of the most impressive medieval buildings in Greece. The mosaics brought here from the island of Kos represent a special attraction.
The ticket includes all palace rooms and the permanent museum exhibition. Tickets are purchased on-site. Arriving before 10am is recommended as the afternoons get crowded with cruise ship visitors.
