Pico do Arieiro

The third highest peak on Madeira (1,818 m) and one of the few mountain summits on the island that can be reached by car. From the viewpoints at the top, visitors can enjoy views of mountain ranges, clouds that often cover the lower parts of the island, and the trail leading toward Pico Ruivo. It is especially popular for sunrise, when the mountain peaks rise above the clouds and create a unique landscape.
