The shortest route starts from Achada do Teixeira and takes about 45 minutes, while the well-known PR1 trail connects Pico Ruivo with the summit of Pico do Arieiro through mountain passes, tunnels, and stone steps. From the summit, panoramic views stretch across the mountain ranges and the island's interior.
